Nengun Performance is a Japanese-based wholesale distributor of performance automotive parts who have been selling online since 2000. And when you get to the site, you immediately know if you are in the right place or not. This site is for that specific niche of driver who knows every single thing about his car, how it affects performance, and what he’d like to replace it with. As you scroll through the pages and pages of products, you are tempted with all the goodies and temptations, from drivetrain improvements such as the Cusco Twin Metal Cluctch, to the Amuse R1000 exhaust. Many of the products that Nengun offers are only available on the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM), including products from manufacturers such as HKS, Apexi, Greddy, Mugen, Spoon, TRD and Nismo. Nengun Performance is not for the faint of heart, or pocketbook. Anything can be upgraded here, from carbon oil pans to a Spoon carbon racing mirror, and after a while, I started thinking about my years and years playing the Gran Turismo series, however, when you want something new, you can’t just run a few laps at an easy course to pay off that turbo kit, you have to actually earn it and pay with real money. But it’s just as easy to spend.
One of the things that would worry me about buying online from an overseas wholesaler is shipping, and Nengun does an excellent job covering all the bases and providing all the information you need. From every page they have a link to three sections, Ordering Information, Shipping Information, and FAQ. They use simple illustrations to walk you through how each step will go, giving you the confidence to understand what you’re getting into during a checkout process, as well as how your order will be shipped and what the expected shipment time is. It also gives plenty of information on overseas shipping, and points you in the right direction to determine if your country will require you to pay Duties and Taxes. Overall, it’s a very professional checkout process, and one that distills much confidence that these guys have been doing this for a while, and that your part will arrive quickly and affordably.
